The
Grand Valley Teaching Environmental Science Naturally (T.E.N.) program, is an interagency, site-based, outdoor environmental science program for teachers. Using the curriculum guides from Project WILD, Aquatic WILD, Project Learning Tree (PLT), and Project Water Education for Teachers (WET), T.E.N.'s activities focus on local natural resources to provide teachers with hands-on experiences, in their own backyards. Using four-day workshops, Grand Valley T.E.N. trains and enables teachers to provide proven, effective, and fun (!) environmental science education to their students.

For the Steamboat Springs T.E.N., CPW education personnel, in partnership with the district teachers and staff, develop custom grade-specific wildlife and environmental education curricula for the Steamboat Springs-area districts. Area teachers are then trained in applying the curricula in their classrooms. Other than this initial training, no annual workshops are offered. Rather, new staff are trained on an as-needed basis to the appropriate T.E.N. grade-level curriculum.
