Colorado Parks and Wildlife wants to ensure every individual has an enjoyable hunting experience in a comfortable learning environment. Our education courses are scalable to the needs of the student, whether a first-timer or more experienced hunter. We offer novice classes as well as youth-only classes, generally suited for elementary to middle school-aged students. Women-only classes are held in some locations. Check out the
calendar to find a class near you.
Our youth-class instructors have developed specific skills to teach kids and provide a supportive, fun-learning environment. Our instructors explain topics thoroughly and devote additional one-on-one time with each student to assure understanding of the lesson. Children twelve years or younger who enroll in a class must be accompanied by a parent or an adult guardian. No fee is charged for the parent or guardian.
Additional resources on each topic can be found under "Helpful Links" on the left. The “Women Afield” is a great resource for women wanting to get more involved in shooting sports, hunting and fishing.
