Big Game Harvest Survey Statistics & Hunting Recap Summaries

Stephanie and Dave Moreno stand next to an elk they caught in the fall.In an effort to assist Colorado's big game hunters applying for the draw, the Division of Wildlife provides the following hunting season information. These reports show how many licenses were available in all big game management units throughout Colorado, how many hunters applied for those limited licenses, how many of those hunters were successful drawing and how many preference points it took to be successful. To understand how to read these hunt recap summaries and harvest statistics, see Reading the Recaps.

Please remember that these will only be guidelines in helping you fill out your limited license applications.  A number of years' statistics are listed below.  To see statistics dating back before 2005, visit the Archived Statistics page.

If you'd like to find out how many preference points you currently have or if you drew your limited license, see Draw Results and Preference Points.

NOTE:  The statistics below are presented in PDF format. To read these files, you'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader.
