The Women Afield Program is dedicated to teaching basic skills in hunting, shooting sports and angling to women. The program is designed to allow women to learn with other women in a comfortable environment. We offer seminars and clinics designed to teach basic skills in the classroom or range with plenty of “hands on” experience during the day long events. These clinics or seminars are typically held during the summer to prepare women for hunting and fishing opportunities each fall.
Each year the program offers limited opportunities to participate in mentored small game and big game hunting events sponsored by the Women Afield program and/or our participating Partners. Applications are made available to novice hunters between April 15th and Aug 1st each year to apply for a sponsored hunting opportunity. This program is offered only to Colorado residents.
Some special programs are available in various locations around the state and are supported by the CPW Regional Offices. These special programs may have individual application periods and announcements which will be posted below.
