New License and HIP Year April 1 - Annual licenses for the 2013 season went on sale mid-March. These license are valid
April 1, 2013 through March 31, 2014 and include small game hunting, fishing, combination fishing and small game hunting, and the Colorado waterfowl stamp. These licenses are available from any
license agent,
CPW office,
online, or by phone at 1-800-244-5613.
Please be aware, the Harvest Information Program (HIP) year also ends on March 31 annually.
License Requirements - Hunters must have a small game license, youth small game or combination license, federal duck stamp and a Colorado Waterfowl Stamp to hunt waterfowl.
Hunters are also required to call the Migratory Bird Harvest Information Program at (866) COLOHIP (265-6447) or register for the Harvest Information Program (HIP) online before heading out into the field. Each caller will receive a confirmation number that must be written on the license for it to be valid. For more on the HIP program, check out "Are You HIP."

Walk-in Access Program: Hunters, as of January 1, 2010, no longer need a special permit to hunt walk-in access lands.
