The Cheyenne Mountain Shooting Complex is a joint project between the U.S. Army, El Paso County, the El Paso County Sheriff and the Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife.The Range Complex is a three (3) phase project. During phase one (1), seven (7) shooting ranges are being constructed with more than ninety (90) shooting stations and two (2) additional ranges with thirty (30) firing points extending 50 yards - designed for pistols. Shooters will check/set and retrieve targets. Three (3) ranges will be designated for rifles with distances between 100-600 yards. For more information, range fees, and hours, see the website. |

Owned and operated by the Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the range provides shade shelters at each of its 10 shooting lanes. Yardages range from 10-55 yards. There is also a tower with two levels that is used to simulate tree stand shooting. There are 5 targets available to shoot at from the tower, at random yardages. One of the targets is a 37” steel buck, “Muy Grande” as it's known! The vitals have been "cut out" and archers must shoot through the opening to avoid breaking arrows. |

Facilities: Rifle range with 8 covered shooting benches. Target placement available from 25 yards to 400+yards. Target stands available at 25 yds, 50 yds, 100 yds and 200 yds. Metal silhouette targets available out to 400+ yards.Shotgun range with covered sun shelter. Two bird throwing devices available on site. Pistol range with covered sun shelter. Mike Higbee SWA has a 100 yard range, with 12 shooting benches, and walkways delineating 3, 7, 15, 25, and 50 yards. The range is open to the public from dawn to dusk, 365 days a year. Priority is always given to law enforcement training and qualification, 4-H, hunter education, and any other CPW sponsored events. A set of range rules is posted at the range. This range is designed for rifle and handgun use, but not for clay pigeons. |
