The first portion of the video reviews how to locate and collect retropharyngeal lymph nodes for hunters interested in submitting tissue samples rather than heads.
The second portion of the video covers how to identify the spleen and submit that organ for CWD testing. This video was produced as part of ongoing efforts to begin looking for ways to reduce the cost of CWD testing. Much of the cost of CWD testing for the CPW is involved in transporting, processing, and disposing of heads that have been submitted. By using lymph nodes or spleen as much as possible in coming years, the cost of head disposal can be minimized.
